A very warm welcome to the Dunedin Swim Team website, which is aimed at providing all current and future members and parents/guardians with information about the club, and who to contact for further details. Our motto is ‘Be the Best,’ and this is something that we strive to deliver through all aspects of our swimming club. Swimming is recognized as being one of the most popular sports world-wide. It is a superb way to improve your health and fitness and by joining Dunedin Swim Team, you will find it a great way to make new lifelong friends and have fun at the same time. Club Latest Achievements 2023/24
7th September 2024: Dunedin ran their annual gala and 30 of our swimmers competed. They all were fantastic. Many PB’s were made, and many medals were won!
4th-11th August 2024: Dunedin went abroad to Tenerife, Spain. They had great fun in Tenerife Top Training’s outdoor pool, swimming 4 hours a day! The swimmers were lucky to get a whole day off training at a waterpark as well!
11th-14th July 2024: One of our competitive swimmers, Arthur Miller, is off to compete at the Scottish Summer meet in Aberdeen. Arthur is very keen to compete in galas, and has been very successful. In Aberdeen he will be swimming the 100m breaststroke sprint – his best stroke. Good luck Arthur!
23rd June 2024: Dunedin hosted a full day of swimming for charity. All club members were given the chance to participate in a swimathon. Many members participated throughout the day, and they successfully raised money for St Columba’s Hospice Care through swimming and running a bake sale.
2nd September 2023: We held our annual gala, our largest event of the year. This time the event was even larger as we hosted not only Scottish competitors, but competitors from a team in Cyprus, Aquademy. Dunedin has a good relationship with this club. Our head coach planned our trip to Cyprus in 2022, where Aquademy hosted Dunedin.
3rd-10th August 2023: Dunedin went abroad to Calella, Spain. Coaches ran great training sessions and planned fun activities. Both swimmers and coaches had a great time! Our head coach, John Kirby is eager to go again and is planning the next camp Tenerife, Spain 2024.
Coming up 2025
2025 Swim Camp to Calella, Spain 03 August 2025 – 10 August 2025 Dunedin has collaborated with 3 other Scottish Swimming clubs – Trojan ASC, Dunfermline ASC, and InCAS. 32 swimmers across the 4 clubs are travelling to Callela with Dunedin Swim Team this summer for a week’s training camp. 4 coaches and 4 team managers will accompany the swimmers. They are planning an exciting training week, with possibly some inter-club competitions! Training will be twice daily in pool and gym. There will be one day off training for some fun in Lloret de Mar Waterpark.
